Self Portrait Series
One of the most challenging things an artist can do is to allow themselves to be seen in their own art. I always struggled with this through out the years and now as a mother I do not want my daughters to struggle with their self image as I have. This self portrait series shares my journey into motherhood. I will be doing full digital scans and releasing prints for purchase on my website when the collection is complete.
Letting Go.
As a mother one of the hardest struggles we face is watching our children grow up and being strong enough to let them go. This picture is about armoring my eldest daughter for her new adventure into the world of college.
Love through sadness.
As any mother knows the tears we cry in private are enough to fill a sea of sadness. This image represents the strength and courage a mother embodies while loving her children even though sadness looms overhead.
Self Love.
We have all heard of the giving tree and know that in the end she ends up a stump of herself. As a mother we often give beyond or limits end up tired and a shell of ourselves. During my journey I decide that I wanted to be a loving tree not a giving tree and that meant I had to embrace self love along the way as an artist and mom.
Catch a Dream
I would often tell my kids I felt more like Mary Poppins with my magical bags of tricks. To my girls I was always filled with magic and wonder. I met my children through my spouse and my eldest was 12 and youngest was 6 when I first met them. I could not believe how little art and wonder they had in their life when I first met them. This began my journey of sharing my love of art and stories with them. This painting represents the nights I would spend with them catching a dream.

Story Collection
Heather is working on a collection of fantasy storybooks and novels. She has many stories untold and will be remastering them and telling them in a magical way that will bring them to life in the eyes of the reader.
